The Finnish newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet referred to the Greek Eurovision post cards with the word boring during an interview with EBU's Reference Group member K. Ekholm. The journalist of the newspaper not only didn't got the meaning of the post cards but he is also proved how much ignorance he has over the concept of the post cards by using this kind of wording. In order to help this poor guy understand how the postcards made we inform him on the basic ideas and plans for the Greek post cards.
The post cards for the 2006 Eurovision cost 3 million Euros. There was not only expensive production but also a pan-European research in order to make them. Survey company appointed by EOT (Greek Tourism Organization) made a research in all participating countries asking: with what do you relate the word Greece in your mind. The outcome words were produced in images - videos which ultimately made the postcards.
Maybe the Europeans are boring by answering these questions. And we wonder why a Finnish newspaper has to demine the Greek production so much since it was in Athens where Finland finally had the chance to win though under the shadow of Skype technology although never proven. We only wish to see more than Santa Claus in the 2007 post cards.
