Hei! Just to let you know that the PRODUCER OF OUR SHOW banned the use of the rainbow flag on the stage. It was made clear before the show. He said: no manifests. I guess everybody is fed up of the attitude: All gays of the world unite and vote for us". That's why.

As to the German flag and Finnish one: we think they were chosen since the german and Finish words fit well into the song that's it. Everything in this song has been chosen just randomly.

Isn't their point just OBVIOUS??? let me tell you. Their point is: "For a long time, the ESC has had nothing to do with the quality of songs anymore. All that counts is "neighbourhood policy", show, OBLIGATORY half naked girls, no matter what the songs are about, no matter how well the songs are performed, etc.. And here we have it all on silver plate - LETO SVET." This is their point. And it is funny!! 52 000 people out of 90 something thousand voted for it and that means we love kreisiraadio. We really love their humour.

Anteeksi että puhun tässä foorumissa englantia. Jos puhuisin suomea, menisi liian kauan aikaa... ja tiedän, että tekisin paljon virheitä....

BTW I have voted many times for Finland since Finland had a goooood song but Finland didn't make it anywhere. I personally don't like Lordi's style but I voted for Lordi only because it was totally different from others - and it won. Lordi should not have been the first Finnish group to win but beautiful songs don't win, they just do not!

This morning I watched Terevisioon on ETV. The composers of Leto Svet were interviewed. And they said the same I said last night here: This song summarises where Eurovision has gone until today. Simple as that! I still keep laughing. It's mega funny and cool. I'd be happy if I met here at least one person who likes it.

Why is it funny when they protest against ESC? Should every country do the same?

Meerimeeri, I'm sorry, but i don't get the joke, or better I do get the joke, but it seemed like a very clumsy one - at least the way it was represented in your NF. There was not much qualities in it. Verka was there last year, She was really funny, but this didn't make me laugh.

And - don't you remember that a quality song that was sung in national language just won last year?

I think one should be careful with this neighbour-voting critique propaganda, because it's clearly, and most heavily, coming from the leading music industry countries, read Britain etc. They give damn about Eurovision, which can be seen from their entries such as Scooching, but even so they want to block every smallest attempt to actually brake their general leading postioin in the field of popular music.

Well, we cannot escape that either,. For example almost every year Estonia gives Russia 10 points (not 12 because Estonians' and Russians taste is completely different and more Estonians I guess watch ESC than Russians in estonia) , since all "our" Russians just vote for Russia. It's the same as Germany: .... and twelve points go to TURKYYYYY. wHAT can we do about it???

I'm sorry but I think you misunderstood what I said in my message. I'm not sure what actually is the core of this neighbour voting propaganda. Is it actually that big a problem or is the problem there that "the leading western countries" don't want to loose their commercial might in the music industry.

Mä olen kyllä tyytyväinen voittajaan! Ainoa toinen kappale, jonka olisin kelpuuttanut, olisi ollut 365 Days. Birgit on söpö kuin mikä ja lauloi upeasti, mutta biisi on tavanomainen ja olisi hukkunut kyllä varmasti massaan Belgradissa. Ice Cold Storyn suosion kyllä tiedostan, mutta henkilökohtaisesti olen sitä mieltä että se on ihan kamala kappale, lähentelee jo järkyttävyydessään Tiktakin säksätyksiä. Muut biisit olivat vain huonoja, eivät edes tahattomasti hauskoja.

Leto Svetiä katsoessa oli pakko nauraa ja siitä tuli hyvälle tuulelle. Kaikkein paras kohta on ehkä se, kun se ensimmäinen setä tepastelee lavalle tanssityttöjen eteen. Ja se pianosoolo on hieno. Ja se väliosa, jossa kappale muka loppuu mutta ei lopukaan ja sitten jo Suomen liput liehuvat. En yleensä välitä huumoriviisuista, mutta tämä on jotenkin veikeä. Voisi tosin olla, etten ihan näinkään paljon pitäisi, jos kyseessä ei olisi nimenomaan veljeskansa Viron viisu... Enivei, tulen tästä hyvälle tuulelle ja se riittää. Eihän kyseessä mikään mestarisävellys tokikaan ole, mutta ei tarvitsekaan.

Leto Svet -setä antoi mulle voittokukkasensa kisan jälkeen. Se muuten puhui vähän suomeakin, kisan jälkeen ETV:n vätköillä nämä kreisiraadiot juttelivat mukavia suomalais-virolaisesta yhteistyöstä parin suomalaistoimittajan (?) kanssa.

I think it's so funny. It's also one of their sketches made a few years ago. It's about an Estonian guy Toomas (tarmo leinatamm) who has dreamt about catching a hare since childhood and finally he has the chance to do it in Lappland where two saamelaista (Võrno and Oja) teach him how to catch the hare. They speak some sort of mixed estonian-Finnish language, meanwhile using weird words derived directly from estonian with Finnish case endings. For instance they use JÄNHES instead of estonian jänes or finnish jänis...

You cannot understand our joke but we CANNOT understand you. WHY is the flag bothering you?? I wonder whether it bothers the Germans too. We think it's funny. Those flags, girls, different languages, funny men with stupid haircuts, the message... all is funny by our mind. Only 80 kms of distance between us and completely different senses of humour. This is really surprising. The entire show is such fun for us...

Strange. Every time I go to Finland for a weekend or to see a concert or for whatever reason I go to helsinki, every time I think when I come back: "how can Finnish taxi drivers can be so polite and taxi drivers in Tallinn cannot?", How can it be so that the taxi drivers don't cheat in Finland and why are they cheating in tallinn? How can Finnish border guards be polite and friendly and ours - they even don't say hello or here you are? Everybody seems so friendly and positive in Finland - and YHTÄKKIÄ I discover that in this forum almost everybody are sort of upset, angry, negative and irritated... Why?

Paljon mukavampi valinta kuin mikään Everybody milloinkaan! Englanninkielisenä amerikkalaisvaikutteisena kappaleena siinä ei ollut mitään virolaista, Leto svetissä sen sijaan (vaikka siinäkin viron kieli puuttuu) kuvastuu eräänlainen virolais-suomalainen ”kömpelönkreisi” huumori, joka ei voi kuin panna hymyilemään ja naurahtamaan, ihan niin kuin Ukrainan Verkakin Esiintyjät ovat tosi hassun näköisiä ja luulen, että tämä parodia pureekin ihan mukavasti.

Minua ei häiritse ollenkaan Suomen eivätkä Saksan liput lavalla, pankaa ne sinne vaan! Niin parodia täydentyy… Lippujahan on ollut ennenkin, muistelkaapa umpisurkeaa Israelin vuoden 2000 Shameakhia (Be happy), jossa heiluteltiin Syyrian lippuja hetken lavalla.

Uusi viisulaji on näköjään syntynyt: ne viisut, joissa muita kieliä lausutaan omalla kömpelöllä aksentilla, sen sijaan että yritettäisiin lausua ulkomaankielisiä esim. tervehdyksiä tosissaan! Ranska ja Ukraina aloittivat tämän sarjan 2007, ja täytyy sanoa, että muiden kielten parodioiminen on minusta kyllä mukavampaa kuin että yritetään niitä lausua tai niillä laulaa tosissaan…

Onnittelut Virolle siitäkin, että Eurolaul 2008:n kärkikolmikko oli varsin oikeanlainen! Joo, petyin hiukan noihin vironkielisiinkin biiseihin, olisivat voineet olla melodisempia vaikka rokkia olivatkin. Ja hyvä etteivät mitkään SKA:t (yök) sun muut päässeet superfinaaliin! Ja HYVÄ ettei One on one päässyt, neljäskin sija oli sille varsin yliarvostettu!!

Ice-cold story oli melodisesti hienoin biisi, ja lavashow soittajineen mahtava, mutta laulaja ei kuulostanut kovin taitavalta.

365 days oli kaunis, mutta lajissaan varsin tavanomainen.

Joten kai nyt oli sitten Leto svetin paikka Kuulenko oikein, että siinä lauletaan sekä serbiaa että venäjää? ”Molim” –sana on serbiaa, mutta ”Eto” venäjää? Mielestäni ne laulavat: ”Leto svet, eto leto svet”, kuulinko oikein? Eli venäjäksi ”Tämä on kesä valo”? (ei siis yhteen)

Perhaps this is one way to handle a disappointment for a fact that you had so much better candidates for ESC than Leto Svet. I´m sure there´s many people outside Estonia, too, who will love this song. Unfortunately I´m not one of them. I`m not irritated or angry - I´m just disappointed. But don´t worry, I`ll get over it.

Vai parodiaa Huilarille. Ehdotankin, että Suomi lähettää ensi vuonna edustajakseen Kummelin.

Meerimeeri. Being angry, negative and irritated seems to be a part of being a ESC fan. I've noticed that as well. Fans anticipate so much these national finals that they bocome really frustrated when a personal/fan favourite doesn't win. I do that as well I must admit, but I'm trying not to. This is all supposed to be fun, but sometimes (maybe too often) we fans take it too seriously if we don't like the selected song. But this applies ESCfans all around Europe, not just finnish fans. Anyway, I personally find your song rather amusing. Great "interlude". The only thing that bothers me a little is that the guys reaaallly can't sing. Then again, maybe that's funny too

It is also in Serbian. I think almost all the languages from this language group have the word eto. which means "it is"

Russians also have the word LETO and SVET which have the same meaning. But I guess in Russian you should say eto letnii svet

Oh, russians don't have svet, I guess, they must have tsvet (zvet, cvet) - impossible to spell with latin letters.
or i don't know, I'm not sure about svet.
