Katsoin viisuajalle hotellitilannetta Bakussa, niin aikas huonolle näytti ainakin booking-sivuston kautta.

siis mun piti päästä lakkias lahjaks maahan viikoks joka voittaa ja katto kaikki semit + finaali ,mun lahja siirtyi nyt sit vuodella kun en oikein uskalla lähtee bakuun

Uskaltaisin varmaankin lähteä mutta kun olen niin laiska ja jetlag vaikuttaa muhun voimakkaammin kuin muihin perheeni jäseniin ja tuttuihini . Ja se on kuulemma pahempi itään matkustettaessa ...

No itse olen käynyt vain kerran, vuonna 2008 Venäjällä. Hienot tunnelmat oli, mutta vähän yliampuvia asioita myös . En usko, että Azerbaijaniin olen menossa. Katsotaan sitten myöhemmin..

The Tourism Association of Azerbaijan has announced the suggest cost of the tour package for foreigners.

According to AzTA head Nahid Bagirov, the tour package usually includes the cost of the return ticket, lodging, as well as tickets (including two semifinals and a final).

'As is known, the contest is to start on 22 May and end on 26 May. Taking into account the days of staying in the country from 21 to 27 May and the three-star hotel costs, the tour package will take some AZN 1,250 (EURO 1,100 or $1,600) and more.

This cost is just approximate since, first, a tourist can reserve a high level hotel room, and second, the cost of tickets for the contest is known defined yet', Bagirov said.

AzTA head said that regardless of tourists’ plans, the tour package always includes the cost of two semifinals and the final of Eurovision.

Meanwhile, he said the tickets in Germany cost EUR 300 and the staying took more than EUR 1,100.

Uskaltasin lähtee mutta ei ole rahaa eikä matka seuraakaan kun ketään kavereistani ei oikeastaan nuo Euroviisut kiinnosta. Pitää varmaan tyytyä katsoo viisut ihan kotisohvalta.

Myös Azerbaidzanin hallitus on mukana turvallisuusjärjestelyissä.

Hinku olisi päästä parinvuoden päästä katsomaan Euroviisujen Finaalia, muttei uskaltais mennä katsomaan muutakuin Suomeen, Viroon tai Ruotsiin :S

Ja toinen juttu ois se että ketä sais oikeesti mukaan, kun ketään ei oikein noi viisut pahemmin kiinosta.

Uutisen mukaan viranomaiset ovat tyhjentäneet viikonloppuna asuintaloa Bakun tulevan euroviisupaikan lähistöltä asukkaiden vastustuksesta huolimatta.
Yhdeksänkerroksisen talon purkutyöt on aloitettu, vaikka rakennuksessa asui vielä viikonloppuna kuusi perhettä.
Kaikki eivät ole muuttaneet, sillä pakkolunastettujen asuntojen hinnoissa on selvittämättömiä asioita.

Uutisessa mainitaan myös että Human Right Watch on pyytänyt viranomaisia tarkistamaan että toimet ovat laillisia.

It doesnt really related to the ESC. The demolishing building near the Flag Square was already planned in 2010. During the construction of the Flag square, they also planned to extend the Boulevard till the square and make near boulevard eight lane road from Bayil to the city center. This building stands in the middle of planned eight lane road. Maybe Eurovision speed up the plan for couple of month but the Government always offer them apartments in the newest buildings with extra sq.m or money according to the apartments location.

Again, the demolishing of old houses in the city center doesnt have anything to do with Eurovision. It is general plan of Baku which was established during Soviet Time. The owner of the houses knew from the beginning of the Soviet time that they have to move out one day. Some part of the old streets were demolished during Soviet time. After the collapse of Soviet Union, the owners of apartment of some streets sold their houses for the private construction companies for very high price. Now the government has to demolish other parts too for the state projects (roads, parks and so on). For example, they demolished Basin street for the new winter boulevard (winter park). The owners got 1500 AZN (Euro) for per sqm. Other option that government offered to them was to move to the newly builded district with extra rooms. However, they wanted to have over 2500 AZN (euro) for per sqm. I agree with the governments options, because they build all this project not for themselves but for the city. Baku need parks, roads etc.

They demolished Basin street, (I think it called Fizuli str now) or build Flag square and planned to extend boulevard and 8 lane road before Eurovision. However, some Human Rights organizations together with Azeri opposition, and owners who want to sell their houses over 2500 euro try to get some credits from this.

Perhaps the owners in question did not however get even the 1500 AZN per sqm? How can you know? Maybe the representant of the government cheated those people? Maybe even the police does nothing because of corruption? Get to ask the people involved more closely! Not even in Finland can we always trust the state or city government's sources tell everything relevant to the media, why should we trust it in Baku?
